Knife-Wielding Woman Bites Officer During Arrest

A driver was also arrested for DUI after police say he was pulled over with a bottle of vodka in the car and said he didn't know where he was going.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Battery

Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of North Edgewood Road at 9:30 p.m. May 20 for a report of a resident threatening others with a knife. When they got there, police restrained Christine R. Johnson, 20, who bit an officer on the arm. She was charged with battery and released on $1,500 bond with a July 8 court date. The officer who was bitten was treated and released from the hospital.

Driving with a suspended license

An officer stopped Quintin F. Garfield, of the 500 block of May Street in Waukegan, for improper lane usage at 10:30 a.m. May 17 at Route 41 and Gage Lane. He was taken into custody when it was learned he was driving on a suspended license. He was released on $1,500 bond with a June 17 court date.

DUI

Police responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver on Waukegan Road at 8:30 p.m. May 13. The officer saw Adrian Waluszko, 27, of the 5400 block of West Windsor in Chicago, swerve across lane markers and pulled him over. The officer found an open bottle of vodka in the car and Waluszko admitted to drinking and said he did not have a license, police said. He also told the officer that he wasn’t sure where he was going and failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI, driving without a valid license and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was released on $3,000 bond with a June 27 court date.
