Lake County Sheriff's Headquarters Closed Due To Power Outage
The sheriff's headquarters and administrative buildings are without power after a Tuesday night storm but said employees will work remotely.

WAUKEGAN, IL — Tuesday night saw storms that left almost 200,000 people without power, according to officials from Commonwealth Edison. Due to those outages, the Lake County Sheriff's Office announced it would be closed Wednesday while it waits for electricity to return to the administrative offices.
A spokesman from the sheriff's office said the department's headquarters and administrative offices would be closed for the entirety of Wednesday. Civilian employees will work remotely, but will still be able to answer questions via phone.
The sheriff's patrol team will still be on duty Wednesday, as well as court security operations. The Lake County Courthouse told Patch it has power and is fully functioning.
