Lake Forest Hospital Earns 'Triple Crown' For Outstanding Patient Care

LAKE FOREST, IL — A Lake Forest hospital was recognized for its outstanding patient care in a new ranking from Healthgrades, a marketplace to help people find quality doctors and hospitals.

Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital was one of just 10 hospitals in the country to earn a "Triple Crown," earning patient safety, patient experience and America's best hospital distinctions. The hospital also received a specialty clinical quality award for its excellent care and treatment of stroke patients.

Healthgrades evaluated hospital consumer survey data, focusing on ten key patient experience measures. This year’s awards recognized 377 hospitals from 44 states and represent the top 15 percent of hospitals in the nation for patient experience.

receive care,” said Debra Gradick, MD FACEP, senior physician consultant at Healthgrades.
“Healthgrades' Outstanding Patient Experience Award highlights hospitals that prioritize patient
experience and consistently achieve exceptional results. Our goal is to help patients feel heard,
confident, and assured of receiving the best possible care.”

As part of the 2025 analysis, Healthgrades identified three patient experience areas that best predict a patient's likelihood to recommend a hospital to friends and family:

• Doctor communication
• Nurse communication
• Clear communication about care when discharge

Healthgrades said in a news release that the awards help consumers choose a doctor or hospital based on the criteria that matters most to them, including compatibility, relevant experience and quality of care, at a time of heightened awareness of the importance of taking care of themselves.
