Lake Forest Obituary: Paula Cosgove, 91
Paula's creativity found expression through her love of decorating and gardening and by entertaining with flair.

Paula Kane Cosgrove
September 25, 1930 – August 30, 2022
Paula Kane Cosgrove died peacefully in the early morning of August 30th at Balmoral Place, Lake Forest following a stroke earlier in the month. Paula is remembered with love by her husband of 68 years, J. Casey Cosgrove, her children Mary ‘Mimi’ Cosgrove Olson (David) and Casey Cosgrove, Jr.; grandchildren Charlie Olson (Erin), Annie Olson (Derek DeBlois) and Brodie Olson; new great-granddaughter Telsie Olson; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Paula was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the eldest daughter of Catherine and Michael Kane and was predeceased by her sister, Donna Kane Williams. She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a beloved elementary teacher in the Forest Hills District before focusing on her family. The Cosgroves moved to Lake Forest in 1974 where Paula began a long association with the Church of St Mary where she co-led the Guild’s women’s bridge group for over 20 years.

Paula’s creativity found expression through her love of decorating and gardening and by entertaining with flair. She was an accomplished milliner and seamstress, and her love of fashion was showcased when she worked as a Doncaster consultant for over 20 years with a dear friend.
The family extends special thanks to Julita Libaton Sanchez, Ayla Brady and Guillaine Bienaime for the care and joy they each brought to Paula’s life in recent years.

A mass in celebration of Paula’s life was held on Friday, September 9, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary, Lake Forest. A private family burial in Pittsburgh will follow later.
