Lake Forest Schools Awarded Government Grants

Two higher education institutions based in Lake Forest will receive a share of the $90 million in grants set aside in the Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program, announced Gov. Pat Quinn. 

Four Lake County colleges and universities have been awarded a total of $3.4 million, to be used for campus infrastructure improvements.

Lake Forest College will receive $933,242, while Lake Forest Graduate School of Management will get $333,940.

In addition, Trinity International University in Deerfield will receive $789,423, while Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago was awarded $1.4 million for classrooms.

The grants are part of Gov. Quinn's agenda to improve higher education in Illinois while creating thousands of construction jobs for the state’s workers, according to a press release.

"Private colleges and universities provide a valuable service to Illinois, and these grants will help them address critical needs and stay competitive," said Gov. Quinn.

Under Gov. Quinn’s Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program, private colleges and universities have received $200 million to date, to address their capital needs.
