Letter to the Editor: Folker for District 67 Board
Reader supports Jeff Folker for Board of Education

Along with the Lake Forest Caucus, I enthusiastically endorse Jeff Folker for District 67 School Board. I had the pleasure of working as Jeff’s Vice President during his tenure as Cherokee APT President and I saw firsthand his professionalism, his leadership, and his unending commitment to make our schools the best they can be.
Jeff is a trailblazer. He was the first male to be selected as a District 67 APT President. He successfully incorporated his passion for Cherokee with his business expertise, his organization skills, and his penchant for setting goals and making data-based decisions to run an efficient and productive APT. He encouraged new ideas and help implemented two new all school events – that are now staples on the Cherokee calendar.
Jeff is a collaborator. He regularly communicated and met with APT members, school staff and other APT Presidents to ensure everyone was on the same page and moving forward together. During challenges, he strived to make sure everyone was heard, understood, and represented.

Jeff is dedicated to our schools. He has contributed countless hours to Cherokee and Deer Path over the years – not only as an APT President, but in numerous other jobs. He attends every meeting, volunteers at almost every APT function, and without his leadership, milestones like the Cherokee’s 50th Anniversary celebration would not have happen.
Jeff is vested in District 67. He has children at both Cherokee and DPM and all you have to do is see him walk down the halls of either school – calling kids by name and high-fiving them – to know he is connected to the district’s key customer base…our children!

In additional to all his school volunteering, he has served as the Treasurer of the Lake Forest Baseball Association and worked tirelessly to overhaul their accounting practices and improve their cash management. Proving again he is a volunteer with results and commitment.
Lastly, Jeff is honest, considerate, hard working, and has a wonderful sense of humor.
I hope you will join me in voting for Jeff Folker for District 67 School Board on April 9th.
