LWV-LF/LB to Host Voter Registration On Tuesday, September 17th

In Celebration of National Voter Registration Day with the Support of Community Partners

The League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area is once again leading a community-wide effort supporting National Voter Registration Day (NVRD). The goal of this nonpartisan effort is to register voters and highlight the importance of voting in our democracy. The LWV LF/LB Area is collaborating with Lake Forest College, Lake Forest High School, Woodlands Academy, Lake Forest Place, Starbucks on Western, Lake Forest Library, City of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff Public Library, The Sheridan at Green Oaks, and Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market. Times and public access vary by location.

“Every eligible American deserves the chance to participate in this year’s pivotal elections,” said Carol Russ, President, LWV Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area. “Voter registration is the first step to ensuring your voice is heard. We want to make sure every Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood resident who wants the opportunity to vote on Election Day is registered.”
National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, is an annual nonpartisan campaign to register hundreds of thousands of voters in communities and online. Embraced by a host of celebrities, bipartisan elected officials and organizations, NVRD leverages the collective impact of thousands of community partners, including hundreds of League of Women Voters groups, nationwide, every year.

“The League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area empowers voters through education, registration and get-out-the-vote activities in every election,” said Mary Ellen McGoey, Vice President of Voter Services. “We host candidate and issue forums and registration drives. LWV Illinois also provides trusted and timely elections information via the Illinois Voter Guide. We believe our democracy is strongest when every voice is heard.”
