Man Charged with Hitting Passenger While Driving

Another man was arrested for DUI after hitting a car at Waukegan and Deerpatch

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Police responded to a traffic crash at Waukegan and Deerpath at 6 p.m. Oct. 1. They spoke with Michael P. Dalka, 59, of the 12900 block of Heiden Circle in Lake Bluff, who had hit another vehicle from behind. Police said he had an odor of alcohol, admitted to drinking and failed a field sobriety test. He later produced a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol content was 0.154. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on $3,000 bond with a Nov. 7 court date.

Driving while license revoked

An officer stopped Marco A. Segura-Gomez, 33, of the 3500 block of Elaine in Waukegan, for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving with one headlight at Route 41 and Old Elm Road Oct. 12. He was then charged with driving while license revoked, released on $2,000 bond and given a Nov. 18 court date.

Driving on a suspended license

An officer stopped Nabor Vazquez-Garcia, 43, of the 300 block of Waukegan Ave. in Highwood, for a cell phone violation at noon Oct. 11 and found him to be driving on a suspended license. He was released on $1,500 bond and given a Nov. 18 court date.

Ambrosio Toledo-Abundes, 48, of the 400 block of Sheridan Road in Highwood, was stopped for a registration violation at Routes 41 and 60 at 5 p.m. Oct. 5. He was taken into custody when the officer learned he was driving with a suspended license. He was released on $1,500 bond with a Nov. 18 court date.

Victor T. Roberson, 22, of the 2100 block of West 71st Street in Chicago, was stopped for improper lane usage at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at Deerpath and Washington. He was taken into custody when found to be driving on a suspended license, released on $1,500 bond and given a Nov. 4 court date.
