Welcome to The Episcopal Preschool -- a place known for its nurturing environment and broad, enriching curriculum. We have been serving the Lake Forest community for over 50 years and, today, are one of the most well-regarded early learning programs in the area. We offer a strong curriculum, a safe, nurturing environment and extended day enrichment programs to enhance early learning. Our mission is to develop each child to his or her fullest potential, spiritually, intellectually, and socially, so that each may grow in grace, enjoy freedom through knowledge, and lead a healthy, productive and meaningful life. EPS operates under the direction of Melanie Upfold and is overseen by the Preschool Board of Directors. It is licensed by the state of Illinois and is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. EPS operates as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation.

The Gorton Children's Drop-in Center has partnered with the Friends of the Lake Forest Library to bring a children's book program to the center, located at 400 E. Illinois Rd. The new <a href="http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/suburbs/ct-tl-lake-forest-childrens-bookshelf-20130319,0,7239869.story" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">"Children's Bookshelf"</a> is at a child's eye level and features a variety of children's books, CDs and parenting books, according to the Chicago Tribune. Many books have been donated by the library are sold for 50-cents to $1. Proceeds benefit the center and the Friends of Lake Forest Library. "Friends of the Lake Forest Library give us funds for things that are outside what you would ordinarily expect the taxpayer to pay for," library director Kaye Grabb told the Tribune. "They give us funds for programming." Open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Children's Drop-In Center is a 25 year-old membership-based program that offers flexible, early childhood care, education and summer camp activities <a href="http://www.gortoncenter.org/drop-in/about-the-drop-in-center" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">for children ages six weeks to 6 years</a>, according to their website.
