Photo Gallery: Antique Cars Come to Lake Forest
Hobbyists and automobile business owners alike enjoy annual show.
For some antique cars are a business and for others a hobby as historic automobile owners from all walks of life came together Sunday for the annual .
Bill and Judy Dobeus of Lake Forest were there displaying their 1948 MG Roadster which they restored including original tires. It was also a task to return the vehicle to its original racing green color.
“We drove to the east coast to for someone who had a shop and could match the paint on the bumper,” Judy Dobeus said.

Of all possibly hobbies, Bill Dobeus has a simple reason to like this one. “You can take it out and drive it,” he said of his 64-year old car.
John Runnfeldt of Long Grove has a limousine business and can arrange for someone to be chauffeured in a 1939 Packard. “It’s a big money maker,” he said. “People like it for weddings.” It is also not all Packard. It is part Packard and part Cadillac.

“We cut it, expanded it and put it on a Cadillac chassis,” Runnfeldt said explaining how he made a stretch limo look like an old Packard.
