Smashed Pumpkin Damages Door, Candy Left on Porch Draws Police

Smashing pumpkins

Someone threw a large pumpkin against the front door of a home overnight Oct. 4 in the 500 block of East Center Avenue, which damaged the door frame.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Sheridan Place at 12:30 a.m. Oct. 7. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Candy from strangers

Officers responded to the 700 block of East Scranton Avenue Oct. 9 and met with a homeowner about someone leaving candy on her front porch. The officer located the candy and determined it was left by a young child in the area.

Suspicious person

Officers responded to the 12800 block of Sanctuary Lane at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 10 for a report of a suspicious person walking through backyards. The officers located a woman who said she was the homeowner and had been talking on her phone.
