LAKE FOREST, IL — A Metra train struck a pedestrian Monday morning in Lake Forest, causing extensive delays for commuters in the northern suburbs.

Train No. 2107 hit the pedestrian around 8:45 a.m. near the Lake Forest station on the Milwaukee District North line at 911 Telegraph Road, according to Metra officials.

Inbound trains were halted near Grayslake, while outbound trains were stopped near Glenview, disrupting travel along the route.
