Union Pacific North Trains Back Moving After Metra Train Hits Car: UPN

No one was injured after the train struck a vehicle near Lake Forest, stopping trains moving in both directions for nearly and hour.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Metra trains traveling in both directions along the Union Pacific North line were stopped for nearly an hour on Friday afternoon after a Metra train struck a vehicle near Lake Forest, officials said.

The accident took place around 2:44 p.m. on Friday, a Metra spokeswoman said, and no one was injured. The spokeswoman did not have any further details on the collision.

As of Friday afternoon, trains were back moving, but were operating on a delay of between 60 and 65 minutes, the spokeswoman told Patch.
