Woman Drives Off Road, Refuses to Report Accident: Police
In a separate hit-and-run, police say a driver left the scene and was later arrested for driving without a valid license.

The following is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt:
Driving with a suspended license
Justin P. Sizemore, 30, of the 5800 block of Crain Street in Morton Grove, was stopped by an officer for driving without a headlight at 11:45 p.m. Aug. 3 at routes 41 and 60. He was taken into custody when the officer learned his driver’s license was suspended. He was released on $1,500 bond with a Sept. 16 court date.

Residential burglary
Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of West Longmeadow Lane for a report of a residential burglary that occurred between 2 p.m. Aug. 2 and 2 p.m. Aug. 3. The front door had been forced open and jewelry was stolen. Anyone with information should contact Detective Mark Senger at SengerM@cityoflakeforest.com.

Domestic battery
Police responded to a business in the 700 block of North Oakwood Avenue at 4:15 p.m. July 31 for a report of a battery that had just occurred. A female victim and a witness told police that Allen R. Skiles, 24, of the 200 block of West Ridgeland in Waukegan, had grabbed the victim’s arm while arguing in a car. She then fled and Skiles chased her and grabbed her again in the parking lot. Skiles then drove off before being stopped by police and charged with domestic battery, disorderly conduct, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $5,000 and he was given an Aug. 5 court date.
Fake IRS Scam
A resident was called by a male claiming to be collecting overdue taxes for the IRS. The caller requested a pre-paid credit card in the amount of $3,000 that the resident would read the numbers of over the phone. The resident obtained the card and gave the caller the information, then discovered the fraud and cancelled the card.

Fraudulent Green Dot MoneyPak Scam
A resident reported receiving a call from someone trying to convince the resident he had won a car and to pay $495 to receive the vehicle using the Green Dot MoneyPak service. The resident quickly called police.

Forgery, theft, deceptive practices
Police responded to a bank in the 900 block of South Waukegan Road at 2:30 p.m. July 24 for a report of three men attempting to cash fraudulent checks. Officers verified that the checks were forged and discovered that the three men had successfully passed two of the fictitious checks at a bank in Lake Bluff earlier that day.
Joel L. Brown, 47, of the 1800 block of West Wells in Milwaukee, was charged with forgery, theft and deceptive practices, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kenneth L. Neal, 53, of the 2700 lock of North 47th Street in Milwaukee, was charged with forgery, theft and deceptive practices. Larry J. Quinn, 57, of the 3300 block of North 23rd Street in Milwaukee, was charged with forgery. Bond ws set at $25,000 each and the men were given Aug. 13 court dates.
Failure to report an accident
Police responded to a crash in the 200 block of Rose Terrace at 7 p.m. July 20 where a car left the road and struck several rocks, a city sign and a tree. The driver, Vikki J. Graham, 46, of the 300 block of Rose Terrace, spoke to a witness and walked away. She refused to speak with officers who went to her home or to complete a crash report. She was later taken into custody and charged with improper lane usage, failure to report an accident, and criminal damage to city property. She was released on $120 bond and given a Sept. 2 court date.
DUI
Police responded to a grocery store in the 800 block of North Western Avenue for a shoplifting complaint at 7:30 p.m. July 15. Officers spoke to Angela H. Freeman, 42, of the 300 block of Hazelwood in Antioch, who police said admitted to drinking and failed a field sobriety test. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license. She was released on $3,000 bond with a Sept. 5 court date.
Hit and run
A car driven by Joel Garcia-Diaz, 35, of the 700 block of Matoon, WI, was hit by another vehicle on Route 41 at 3 p.m. July 15. He fled north until his car became disabled near Route 176 where he was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a valid license. He was released on $1,500 bond and given an Aug. 19 court date.
Copper gutter theft
Police responded to a home in the 0-100 block of Ahwahnee Road for a report that a homeowner had interrupted a man stealing copper gutters at 9 a.m. June 6. The man fled in a van that patrol officers located. The driver, Anthony J. Pasquesi, 35, of the 200 block of Washington Road, was taken into custody and the gutters were located. He was charged with theft, attempted theft, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to property. He was released on $1,500 bond and given a July court date.
When he failed to appear for that court date a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 30, a Lake Forest detective located Pasquesi in Wadsworth. He was taken to the Lake County Jail.
