1 Dead, 2 Injured In Lake Cook Road Collision
The crash happened on Lake Cook Road at Ferndale Road Sunday morning, authorities said.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 71-year-old Mount Prospect man is dead and a 63-year-old Mount Prospect woman has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Deer Park Sunday morning.
The collision happened at about 10:20 a.m. when a 2025 Jeep Wrangler attempting to turn left from eastbound Lake Cook Road onto northbound Ferndale Road pulled in front of a 1986 Alfa Romero, which was westbound on Lake Cook Road at the time, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of the Alfa Romero, a 71-year-old Mount Prospect man, was critically injured and taken to a hospital where he died a short time later, police said. A passenger in the car, a 63-year-old Mount Prospect woman, was taken to an area hospital where she remains in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Jeep, a 75-year-old Deer Park man, sustained minor injuries. He told police he did not see the Alfa Romero before he pulled in front of it, according to police.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
