Fireworks Cancelled For NW Suburban Town
Village officials in Lake Zurich said that rain Friday morning lead to the decision to cancel fireworks.
LAKE ZURICH, IL — There will be no fireworks in Lake Zurich tonight, village officials announced on the morning of the Fourth of July.
"It is with regret that we are canceling today's Fireworks Display over the lake," according to a post at about 10 a.m. on the village of Lake Zurich Facebook page. "Due to this morning's rain that is expected to continue for some time, conversations with the fireworks company and keeping everyone safe, we are not going to have Fireworks this evening."
Other festivities at Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich, are still on despite the cancellation of the July 4th fireworks. The park opened at 10 a.m. Friday and live entertainment began at 11 a.m. from DJDaveChicago. There will also be food truck and vendors at the park.

Music from live bands starts at 3 p.m. with Mr. Scott's Giant Bubble Show and will continue at 5 p.m. with @MissJamiesFarm. Blackberry Jam Chicago will take the stage from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.
