Home-schooled students living in Lake Zurich School District 95 will likely have to sit on the sidelines for school sports, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The District recently learned it was breaking the Illinois High School Association’s rules regarding home-schoolers and interscholastic sports teams. IHSA requires that students, whether home-schooled or not, have to take at least five classes per year approved by the schools to play sports. Students in District 95 are currently allowed to take only two of those courses outside of the schools, like online classes, the newspaper reports. This would make home-schooled children ineligible for sports teams.
