Lake Co. To Get First Lava Island Adventure Park In IL

Lava Island plans to open at the Quentin Collection shopping center.

KILDEER, IL — Families in the area will have a new playground and adventure park to check out soon when Lava Island opens its first location in Illinois.

The Daily Herald is reporting the Lava Island parks feature large-scale, multi-level play structures, foam pits, trampolines, balance beams, air bag jumps and climbing challenges, according to Mandi Delgado, marketing and events coordinator for new parks.

The state's first Lava Island is expected to open later this year in a former Best Buy at Quentin Collection shopping center near Route 12 and Quentin Road.

There are currently six Lava Island locations in Colorado, Montana, Arizona and Connecticut. Seven additional locations will be opening soon in Kildeer; Brookfield, Wis.,; Alpharetta, Georgia; Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Plano, Texas; and Lawrenceville, Georgia.
