Lake Zurich Board to vote on budget, other items tonight

$37.6 million budget and 1.6% increase in property tax levy are on the agenda

The Lake Zurich Board of Village Trustees will meet on Monday night, December 5, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 70 E. Main St. There are several items on the agenda:

  • Approval of the $37.6 million budget for 2017
  • Approval of the property tax levy, which will increase by 1.6% from last year, but village staff expect this to be borne by new commercial properties and have little impact on homeowners.
  • Increase in water and sewer rates by $0.61 per 1,000 gallons. The average family of four using 400 gallons per day would see an increase of $7.42 in a monthly bill.
  • Authorization to spend $525,000 to replace a fire engine from 1995.
  • Simplification of the village liquor code.
