Man, 59, Fatally Hit And Killed By SUV Over The Weekend: Coroner
The collision happened at a Route 12 intersection in Lake Zurich early Saturday.
LAKE ZURICH, IL — A 59-year-old Lake Zurich man was hit and killed by a sports utility vehicle early Saturday in Lake Zurich.
The collision happened at about 12:40 a.m. on Saturday when the man was walking north through the intersection of Route 12 and Deerpath Road when he was hit by a 2018 Lexus sports utility vehicle, which was headed east on Route 12, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.
The man, who has been identified as Casimir Ries of Lake Zurich, was in or near the crosswalk when the crash occurred, according to the coroner's office.

The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene.
Preliminary results from an autopsy show that Ries died from blunt force injuries as a result of a crash.
