Update: Lake Zurich Police Have Stabbing Suspect in Custody

Lake Zurich Police charged Maxwell S. Younger, 21, of Wheeling, with three felony counts of aggravated battery in the McDonald's stabbing.

Update: Dec. 7, 10:20 p.m.

Lake Zurich Police took a suspect in the McDonald's parking lot stabbing into custody at approximately 7 p.m.  Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Update: Dec. 6, 9:30 a.m.

Commander David Bradstreet of the Lake Zurich Police Dept. confirmed that the victim of yesterday's stabbing is a resident of North Barrington. He said the victim was stabbed twice, was bleeding and he believes that he is still in Good Shepherd Hospital. Good Shepherd Hospital could not release any information.

Bradstreet said police are studying surveillance videos from the McDonald's parking lot, however, the specific area where the incident occurred was not under surveillance. 

Bradstreet said the department has leads on the crime that they are following. Police continue to ask the public for help in solving this crime. Witnesses or people who know anything about the incident should call police at  847-719-1695.

Dec. 5

A stabbing occurred at 1:53 a.m. in the parking lot of the McDonalds on 653 S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich, according to a release just issued by Lake Zurich Police. 

The 21-year-old male victim was stabbed twice in the abdomen with an unknown type of knife, according to a release from the Lake Zurich Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 1:53 a.m., Wednesday.

Police stated the victim received treatment for his injuries at Good Shepherd Hospital.

The offender was described as a white male, approximately 17-22 years of age. He is said to be tall and thin with short brown hair and no facial hair. The offender left the scene in a dark-colored passenger car.

A passenger in the front passenger seat of the offender’s vehicle is described as a male white, also 17-22 years of age. He is said to have curly light brown hair. A witness said he was tall and thin and wore “skater” clothing.

The Lake Zurich Police Department is requesting that anyone with information please contact the Lake Zurich Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 847-719-1695. Individuals may provide information anonymously. Individuals who provide valid information may also be eligible to receive a cash reward for their information.
