Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 is one of 59 Illinois school districts to receive the 2012 School Search Bright A+ Award. This award is based on those school districts with the highest academic performance in Illinois.

SchoolSearch honors 59 Illinois school districts (out of 868 school districts) with the SchoolSearchTM Bright A+ Award for academic excellence. These school districts are among the top 5 percent of Illinois school districts academically based on the following criteria (Source: 2011 IL Report Card Data):
Elementary Criterion: The overall average percentage of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade ISAT (Illinois Standards Achievement Test) meets or exceeds percentages of reading & math. The Illinois State School District range for this overall average ISAT percentage is 54.10 (lowest) -- 99.30 (highest) out of a possible range of 0-100. The Illinois State average for this percentage is 82.28. Elementary/Unit School Districts with a percentage of 95.30 or above on this criterion qualified for this award.

Secondary Criterion: The ACT composite score of all students tested. The Illinois State School District range for the ACT is 13.3 (lowest) -- 27.5 (highest) out of a possible range of 1-36. The Illinois State average ACT score is 20.6 & the U.S. average ACT score is 21.1. High School/Unit School Districts with an ACT score of 23.4 or above qualified for this award.
