Seth Paine author book signing at Ela Historical Society well attended
Ela Historical Society and Museum hosted signing and displayed new artifacts related to Seth Paine

Nancy Schumm, author of the historical biography of Lake Zurich founder Seth Paine, was invited back to a public book signing at the Ela Historical Society and Museum in Lake Zurich on Saturday, December 9. The museum also had on display a newly acquired artifact associated with Seth Paine during his time as founder and owner of the Bank of Chicago, also known as The Spiritual Bank, in the early 1850s.
Ela Historical Society and Museum Program Director Julie Vollbrecht mentioned that the Seth Paine exhibit, containing many photos and artifacts associated with Paine, is a popular display for visitors of the historical society, and a launching point on Paine's influence and impact on the Lake Zurich community. New Lake Zurich residents Bob and Jeanne Bozzay visited for the first time and enjoyed the breadth of historical material and information about the Lake County and Chicagoland area.
Future presentations, book readings and signings by author Schumm are in planning for 2024. The audiobook version is narrated by E. Olivia Darden, Esq., direct descendent of Harriet Tubman. "The Anointed One: the Untold Story of Seth Paine, Midwest Abolitionist" is available for purchase in hardback, paperback, audio USB card, and digital download via Amazon Books. Author Schumm and narrator Darden are available for presentations, in person and virtual, by contacting Schumm's publicist Patty Charhut at pscharhut@gmail.com.
