LEMONT, IL — The consolidated election, which features several local races, will be held on April 1, with early voting already started on March 17. As a way to help keep voters informed, Patch offers candidate questionnaires for all candidates in local races.
One of those races in Lemont is the race for Lemont Fire Protection District. There are two candidates running for one position.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Experience of being on Lemont Lions Club board positions for over 17 years in different roles.
Why should voters trust you?
I have Lemont communities best interest a heart, by doing volunteer projects throughout town, restoration of cemeteries and making it a better place to live.
If you win this position, what accomplishment would make your term in office as a success?
Building one new fire station and upgrade other stations under budget and saving taxpayers resources.
What are your views on fiscal policy, government spending and the handling of taxpayer dollars in the office you are seeking?
After reviewing the current and past budgets, I would look into saving the taxpayers' money. Like retrofitting existing equipment compared to purchasing new.
What are your thoughts on the crime rate in your community, and what more can be done to combat crime — especially violent crime — in town?
Lemont is a very safe community as a trustee of the Fire District, I would leave that up to the Police Department.
What is your view of the city's/village's approach to commercial and residential development?
Lemont has its growing pains and I think the leadership is handling it very well.
When it comes to development, what are some key areas for improvement or additions you feel are most wanted by residents? What will need to be done to make this happen?
Enlarging our current manpower and rebuilding our infrastructure so that our communities are well covered for respond times with multiple units.
Is there any reason you would not serve your full term of office, other than those of health or family?
To the best of my knowledge, I would serve the entire term
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have Lemont taxpayers' best interest in mine because your tax bill is also my tax bill
