• Lemont Library Board Accepting Applications For Board Vacancy (patch.com) — Residents of the Lemont Public Library District are invited to apply for an open trustee seat following a recent resignation, with applications due by Feb. 1. Applicants must be registered voters who have lived in the district for at least a year, meet legal eligibility requirements, and commit to attending the Feb. 10 board meeting for interviews. The selected trustee will serve until the next consolidated election in spring 2027.
   

• Home Invasion Suspects Hit 3 Other Cars In Wrong-Way Crashes, Discarded 2 Guns During Wild Chase: Prosecutors (patch.com) — A Lemont resident was among the victims in a pair of violent home invasions that prosecutors say are tied to a stolen car, armed robbery, and a dangerous wrong-way police chase through multiple suburbs. Two Chicago men remain jailed as investigators link them to the Lemont break-in, large cash withdrawals from a Lemont bank, and weapons allegedly discarded along their escape route.
