Lemont Pet Rescue Offering Dog Adoption Special Over Holiday Weekend

LEMONT, IL — While local residents settle in for a long holiday weekend commemorating Independence Day, a Lemont pet rescue is hoping to use the celebration as a reason to provide forever homes to dogs who need them.

Ruby Whiskers Pet Rescue will hold its inaugural Red, White and Woof adoption event beginning on Friday, officials with the shelter offering the ability to adopt dogs throughout the holiday weekend for $150, organizers said.

All of the dogs up for adoption have been fully vetted, spayed, and neutered and have had their rabies vaccine and other shots prior to being offered up for adoption. The $150 adoption special runs through July 2 only.
