Lewis University Closing At Noon On Thursday Due To Winter Storm

All in-person meetings are recommended to move to a virtual format, according to the university.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University in Romieoville will close at noon on Thursday due to the incoming winter storm. The univrsity said university personnel is encouraged to work remotely on Thursday, if possible.

Romeoville is under a winter storm warning, beginning noon Thursday until 6 a.m. Saturday. Snow accumulations and blowing snow caused by high winds are expected to produce occasional whiteout conditions. Dangerous wind chill values are predicted as well.

The university offices will resume normal business hours on Jan. 3. The offices were previously scheduled to close at 3 p.m. on Thursday for the annual Christmas Holiday Break closure.

The Lewis University Leadership Team and Campus Emergency Planning Team are closely monitoring the weather, the university said.
