Long-Time Lemont Township Clerk Barbara Buschman Dies

Buschman, a long-time Lemont resident, died Monday. She was known to many thanks to her involvement in various Lemont organizations.

LEMONT, IL — Long-time Lemonter and civic leader Barbara Buschman died on Monday, at age 86.

Buschman was known around Lemont for her involvement in a variety of Lemont organizations, including the Lemont Area Historical Society, Lemont Lions Club and her time with the Lemont Village Board and Lemont Township.

Buschman served 16 years on Lemont's Village Board, and just retired earlier this year as Lemont Township Clerk. She had served in that position since 2005.

"She was a dear friend and colleague to many. She will be missed. Rest in peace Barbara, our thoughts and prayers are with you," Lemont Township shared on its Facebook page.

Buschman's visitation will be held on Saturday at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. followed by Mass at 10 am. at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 E. Illinois St., Lemont, proceeding to Clarendon Hills Cemetery for interment.
