Masks Required In Lemont Village Hall, Police Department
The face mask requirement will begin Tuesday for all employee and visitors to Lemont's municipal buildings.
LEMONT, IL — Starting Tuesday, the Village of Lemont is requiring face masks for all employees and people who enter Village of Lemont municipal buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Municipal buildings include the Village Hall, police department and public works buildings.
At the end of July, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated recommendations due to spread of the delta variant of the coronavirus. In areas of substantial or high transmission, the CDC recommends that everyone wear a mask in public indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status.
As of Wednesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health lists Cook County at substantial transmission of the coronavirus.

"Having the mask requirement back in place will help protect our employees as well as our visitors," the village said on its website.
