Obituary: Elmer Novak, Jr.

LEMONT, IL — Elmer J. Novak, Jr., age 81, of Lemont, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Nov. 18, 2022.

Beloved husband of the late Carole L. (nee Hejka) Novak; loving father of Elmer J. (Monica) Novak III, Denise Novak, Anthony (Jean) Novak, John (Jamie) Novak, Eric (Lydia) Novak, the late Dominic Novak, Adrian (Shirin) Novak, Luke Novak, Theresa Palmer, Mary Novak (fiancé George Lee), Bernadette Novak, Joseph (Caroline) Novak and David (Katie) Novak; cherished grandfather of 37 and proud great-grandfather of 2. Fond brother of Debbie (James) Krenek.

Elmer was a Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Bass & Gill Club in Plainfield, and a member of IBEW Local 134 his entire career.

Visitation is Monday, Nov. 28, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Alphonsus Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
