Obituary: Francis E. “Frank” Wozniak

Frank Wozniak, 88, a Korean War veteran who served in the United States Army, died on Monday after spending his entire life in Lemont.

LEMONT, IL — Francis E. “Frank” Wozniak., 88, a lifelong resident of Lemont, passed away on Monday with his family at his side.

A Korean War veteran, who served in the U.S. Army, Wozniak was a member of the Lockport American Legion Post 18, the Lemont V.F.W. Post 5819, and the Holy Name Society at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church.

Frank graduated from Lemont High School in 1951, was employed at Corn Products for 45 years, and was a Lemont Township Trustee for 40 years. Frank was everyone’s friend and an all-around good guy.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Wozniak.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Przybysz Wozniak; his stepchildren, Caroline (Fred) Hille and Peter (Linda) Przybysz; his grandchildren, Peter Jr., Joseph, and Marianna; a great-granddaughter, Clara; his sister, Theresa (late William) Wozniak Benner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Monday, April 4 at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., located at 108 Illinois St. in Lemont.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5 from the funeral home to SS. Cyril & Methodius Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
