Obituary: James "Jim" Ludwig

LEMONT, IL — James “Jim” Leslie Ludwig, 61, died Aug. 11, 2021. Jim was born on April 28, 1960, in Arlington, Washington. Jim was the only child of Rev. Thomas L. Ludwig and Priscilla A. Ludwig (nee Caddell).

The Ludwigs moved to Lemont when Jim was five years old, his obituary states. Jim attended Lemont grade and high schools, graduating in 1978, and also attended Joliet Junior College and Radio School.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Ludwig and is survived by his mother Priscilla Ludwig. Jim was a member of the Lemont Classic Car Club and an avid train enthusiast.

Jim was a member of the Lemont United Methodist Church and performed in all but one of the Last Supper tableaus performed on Palm Sunday for over 30 years, according to his obituary. Jim played the part of the disciple, Thaddeus.

During his working career Jim worked for Carsons, Schneider National Inc., and Walmart Logistics.

Jim died Aug. 11, 2021, after an extended stay in several health care facilities. While there, Jim was on kidney dialysis and eventually died after several strokes, his obituary states. His body will be cremated with a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 25 at the Lemont United Methodist Church, 25 W. Custer St., Lemont.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Lemont United Methodist Church.
