LEMONT, IL — Jerry Frank Egermaier, age 91, passed away on March 22, 2023. Born to the late Jerry J. (late Mary Mae, nee Pliml) on July 29, 1931, in Chicago.

He grew up in Naperville, with his late sister Mary Louise (late David) Griffin. After high school, he enlisted in the Illinois National Guard, and served for 3 years. Upon completion of his service, he worked as a carpenter. On July 20, 1968, he married Gloria Mae, nee Switzer (West), and joined their families together to reside in Lemont. They were married for 54 years.

Once retired, he built a house in Pentwater, Michigan, and lived there for 27 years until moving back to Illinois for health issues. His favorite pastimes were woodworking, boating, and fishing. He will be missed by his children, Victoria, nee West, (Gary) Cobbett, Christine, nee West, (David) McGreal, Theresa (Craig) Davies-Walton, Antonia (Gary) Benda, Marcilene, nee West, (Richard) Pierce, Gloria, nee West, (Richard) Lawson, and Jerry Jay (Carol) Rott; adored grandfather of Benjamin (Andrea) Cobbett, Genevieve Acosta, Natalie (Nate) Philp, David McGreal, Daniel (Victoria) McGreal, Geoffrey Pierce, Emily (Matthew) Hennebry, Rachel (Kurt) Krapfl, Andrew Zero, Margaret (Kyle) Sron, Bradley (Rhonda) Heyden, Robert (Julie) Heyden, Angela (Matthew) Bjorkland, Victoria (Robert) Solomon, Kimberlee (Christopher) Metzel, Fallon Jarboe, Brandon (Hillery) Jarboe, Jason (Lizzet) Jarboe, Dakota Jay Rott, and Cheyenne (Mike) Kamari; cherished great-grandfather of 50; and great-great grandfather of 1; fond uncle of many nieces & nephews.

Memorial visitation Friday, March 31, 2023, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St., Lemont. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Lemont United Methodist Church food pantry.
