Raymond W. Rohder, age 90, of Lemont, died Dec. 7.

LEMONT, IL — Raymond W. Rohder, age 90, of Lemont, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side on Dec. 7.

Preceded in death by his parents, August (Grace) Rohder; and a brother Lloyd Rohder. Survived by his wife, Irene, nee Wydra, Rohder; two sons, Michael Rohder and Jim (Karyn) Rohder; and three grandchildren, Coltin, Carson, and Megan Rohder.

A proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1953-1955. He was a longtime employee of Commonwealth Edison for 37 years. He worked as a welder and a welding instructor.

Ray was a 2 time Lemont High School Sports Hall of Fame inductee, first in 2006 and again in 2007. He was also senior class president. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the U.S. He was a longtime member and former Vice President of CECO Recreational Club.

Visitation Friday, Dec. 15, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St., Lemont. Family and friends will meet for a Memorial Mass on Monday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 200 E. Illinois St., Lemont. Interment with military honors will take place after Mass at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
