1 In Custody In Home Invasion In Vernon Hills
A woman was bound and left outside while two suspects rummaged through her home, stole items in October, according to authorities.
VERNON HILLS, IL — A 44-year-old man has been arrested and authorities are searching for a second suspect following a home invasion in Vernon Hills.
Carlos E. Kidd, 44, of Evansville, was taken into custody on charges of residential burglary, criminal trespass, unlawful restraint and home invasion for his role in the crime that took place on Oct. 28 in the Plymouth Farms subdivision, according to the Daily Herald. Kidd and another person are accused of breaking into the home of a woman while she was sleeping and taking her outside before binding her hands behind her back with duct tape.
They then rummaged through her home and took her electronics and prescription medication, according to the article.

Authorities are still searching for the other suspect in the home invasion, and Kidd remains in custody after a Lake County judge granted a petition filed to detain Kidd pending trial, according to the Daily Herald.
