2 Public Works Employees Electrocuted While Trimming Trees
The incident happened in the area of Pershing and Greenwood avenues in Waukegan Thursday morning.
WAUKEGAN, IL — Two public works employees were electrocuted while trimming trees in Waukegan on Thursday morning.
The Waukegan Fire Department was called to the area of Pershing and Greenwood avenues at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of two men with injuries, according to a news release from the fire department.
One of the men was flown to Loyola Medical Center for treatment of electrical burns. And the other man was taken to Condell for further treatment.

Authorities say the workers were conducting tree trimming when one of the trucks equipped with a crane boom contacted a power line and "the power line energized the truck, injuring the two workers."
ComEd responded to the scene to ensure the power lines were safe.
