LAKE COUNTY, IL — Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s office Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals Service — Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF), concluded an investigation Thursday which resulted in a Chicago man's arrest. According to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's office, 22-year-old Ronnell Robinson, from the 5600 block of South Bishop Street in Chicago, is a documented gang member who was wanted for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon as a result of an investigation conducted by the Round Lake Beach Police Department. Several guns, including two stolen ones, were found back in September 2019 when members of the Lake County Sheriff's office Special Investigations Group assisted Round Lake Beach police with a search warrant at a home in the 36600 block of North Fairfield Road in Ingleside, where Robinson previously lived, according to the news release.

The sheriffs office said that during the investigation, warrants deputies determined Robinson was likely avoiding arrest at a home in the 1500 block of Dempster Street in Mount Prospect. Authorities located him inside the home, and he was arrested.

Warrants Deputies also found and arrested Michael Mitchell, 20, from the 5600 block of South Bishop Street in Chicago, who was wanted on a Cook County warrant for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and was therefore turned over to the Cook County Jail, according to the news release.

Robinson was taken to the Lake County Jail and is being held on $75,000 bail, with an upcoming Tuesday court date.
