$350K Bond For Woman Who Hit Man With Car: Authorities

A Waukegan woman has been charged for intentionally hitting a man with her car, causing him to suffer multiple injuries, earlier this month in Waukegan.
Lakeesha Donley, 26, of the 100 block of Drew Lane in Waukegan, was charged with aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A criminal complaint filed in Lake County Circuit Court alleges Donley chased a man with her car around 7 p.m. July 8.
Eventually, Donley intentionally struck the victim with her car in the 2600 block of West Cornelia Avenue in Waukegan, the complaint said.

The Waukegan Police Department responded to the scene and officers arrested Donley.
The Waukegan Fire Department also responded to the scene and paramedics transported the victim to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.

Waukegan Deputy Police Chief Joe Florip said the male victim suffered a fractured pelvis, injuries to his hand, and a knee laceration.
The man’s injuries were not life-threatening but he was held at the hospital overnight for observation, Florip said.
Florip said he was not releasing any additional details on the incident as the police department does not typically comment on domestic incidents.
Donley remains held in the Lake County Jail on a $350,000 bond, meaning she would need to post $35,000 cash, court records show.
In addition to her felony charges, she was also cited for reckless driving, improper traffic lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
