'55 Days' Of Fun: MainStreet Libertyville Releases 2025 Schedule
MainStreet Libertyville is requesting approval from the Libertyville Village Board to host the special events in town.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — MainStreet Libertyville officials are gearing up for another year of fun and has set the dates for its popular events in 2025, including the annual dessert walk, Dickens of a Holiday, lunch in the park and more.
Jennifer Johnson, executive director for MainStreet Libertyville, said MainStreet Libertyville has 55 days of fun planned for 2025. On Tuesday, the city council will consider a resolution to approve a request for the 2025 special events planned by MainStreet Libertyville.
If approved, MainStreet Libertyville’s events will be held on the following dates:

- Let’s Wine About Winter: Feb. 22, 1 to 4 p.m.
- Girl’s Night Out: Oct. 17, 5 to 9 p.m.
- First Fridays on MainStreet: March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 17, December 5, 5 to 9 p.m.
- Car Fun on 21: May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20, September 17, 6 to 9 p.m.
- Farmer’s Market: May 29, June 5 and on Thursdays from June 19 through October 16 (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Lunch in the Park: Fridays on June 20 through August 15, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- MainSweet Dessert Walk: August 2, 12 to 3 p.m.
- Sidewalk Sales: July 18 and 19, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Small Business Saturday: November 29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Trick or Treat on MainStreet: October 31, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Oktoberfest: October 19, 5 to 10 p.m. and October 20, 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m.
- Dickens of a Holiday: December 6 and 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
MainStreet Libertyville is a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization that aims to preserve and promote historic downtown Libertyville. MainStreet Libertyville is an accredited program of Main Street America that includes more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities committed to preservation-based economic development, Johnson said.
"MainStreet Libertyville offers programs and events that draw visitors to downtown Libertyville to shop, dine, play, and live, and ultimately, enhance the economic vitality of the small business community and our downtown commercial corridor," Johnson told Patch. "Proceeds from events fund additional downtown marketing and economic development opportunities."

Another event in the works for 2025 is a Casino Night community night/fundraiser on Saturday, April 5, at Independence Grove, Johnson said. A themed night of shopping that debuted last October, and named Witches Night Out, is expected to return this year as well, she said.
