Almost 50 Migrants Dropped Off By Bus At Waukegan Metra Station
The migrant workers were reportedly dropped off at the Waukegan Metra station Friday evening.

Almost 50 migrants were reportedly dropped off at the Waukegan Metra station Friday evening, which was at least the second drop-off in the town recently.
The Metra Police Department reported approximately 40-50 migrants boarded a Union Pacific North line train around 8 p.m. Friday.

The migrants had offloaded from a bus that dropped them at the Waukegan Metra station, 95 Spring Street.
The train arrived at Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago around 9:20 p.m., police officers reported.

The migrant drop-off was at least the second occurrence at the Waukegan Metra station recently.
On December 20, a bus carrying approximately 55 migrants arrived at the Waukegan train station from Texas, according to a police report.
Police arrived and coordinated that the bus would transport the passengers to Chicago, the report said. Waukegan officers escorted the bus to Chicago.
On Sunday, over 350 migrants were flown from Texas to Rockford and bused to Chicago area Metra stations, including Highland Park.
The City of Rockford said that city and county officials were alerted on Saturday that a plane carrying migrants was scheduled to land at Chicago Rockford International Airport.
Chicago recently approved an ordinance cracking down on buses that drop off migrants in its city.
Texas has since redirected buses and planes to other nearby cities for migrant drop-offs.
Sheriffâs deputies escorted the buses to the McHenry County line. City officials said the buses did not make any stops along the way to McHenry County.
The buses were supposed to travel to Chicagoâs designated zone for migrant arrivals but the buses reportedly did not arrive at the location.
Metra police reported migrants were being dropped off by buses throughout the Chicago suburbs Sunday morning at Metra stations.
The migrants, who had paid fares, boarded Metra trains bound for Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago.
The bus drops occurred in Highland Park, West Chicago, Wheeling, Lombard, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn and Elgin.
