Battery, DUI Arrests In Libertyville: Police

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department responded to several crime incidents reported in recent days:
Driving under the influence (DUI)
- Libertyville police officers saw a car being driven erratically at 3:01 a.m. Oct. 27, and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Parkview Drive. According to police, the driver was identified as 45-year-old Juan Pizano, of the 0-100 block of Shaddle Avenue, Mundelein, who was showing signs of impairment, and was asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests. According to police, Pizano failed the tests and was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department. That's where Pizano was processed and cited on accusations of DUI, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more, and improper lane usage, according to police. He was released after posting his driver's license and signing a $1,000 personal recognizance bond, with a pending court date of Nov. 15.
- Libertyville police officers saw a traffic violation at 12:26 a.m., Nov. 3 in the area of Park Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue. According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop on the car in the area of Sunnyside Place near Milwaukee Avenue, during which the driver was identified as 26-years-old Brian R. Sears, of the 650 block of Sandwedge Place, Gurnee. Police saw several signs of impairment, and Sears was asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. Sears was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department, where he was processed and cited on accusations of DUI, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more, and improper stop at stop intersection, according to police. Sears was released after posting his driver's license and signing a $1,000 personal recognizance bond, with a pending court date of Nov. 22.

- Libertyville police officers were called to the 400 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue at 1:44 a.m., Nov. 3 for a report of a man who pushed another person to the ground before running off. According to police, officers caught up to the man, identified as 29-year-old Mark Dwayne Key, of the 500 block of N. Milwaukee Ave. While investigating, police learned there was a verbal altercation that turned physical, and Key was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department, police said. That's where Key was processed and cited on accusations of battery, and was released after signing a $164 recognizance bond, with a pending court date of Dec. 11, according to police.
