Child Sex Abuse, Man Wanted In CA, More Lake County Crime: LCSO

A Waukegan man being held on other charges was recently arrested for battery at the Lake County Jail, according to sheriff's reports.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's office responded to these crime incidents in recent days:

Battery at Lake County Jail

Salomon Landero-Romero, 27, of Waukegan, is accused of battery at the Lake County Jail on Jan. 7, while being held on other charges. His court date is listed as Jan. 30.

Sexual assault of a child

Jamal K. Burey, 20, from Beach Park, was arrested Friday in the 39800 block of Torry Lane in Beach Park on a warrant for sexual assault of a child, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, and a warrant out of Kenosha County for child enticement. His bond was set at $50,000 and his court date will take place in Kenosha County.

Conditions of release violation

Daniel Brizuela Ortiz, 34, of Ingleside, was arrested Saturday at Route 12 and Fox Lake Road in Lakemoor on a warrant out of Los Angeles County, California for a conditions of release violation. There is no bail for Ortiz and his court date will take place in Los Angeles County.

Aggravated Speeding

Greg M. Schye, 59, from Hainseville, was arrested Sunday on accusations of aggravated speeding at Petersen Road and Alleghany Road in Grayslake. Schye is accused of going 90 mph in a 45 mph zone. His bond was set at $1,500 (recognizance) and his court appearance is listed as taking place in branch court.

DUI and child endangerment

Shernice Jordan, 31, of North Chicago, was arrested Sunday on accusations of DUI (alcohol) and child endangerment at Route 137 and St. Mary's Road in Green Oaks. Her bond was set at $3,000 recognizance, and her court date is listed as Feb. 19.
