Chipotle Employee Accused Of Stealing From Workers: Crime Reports

Recent Libertyville Police Department crime reports also include an elderly man accused of entering cars.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville Police Department officers responded to the following crime incidents in recent days:

Theft involving Chipotle employees

A Chipotle employee at the 139 N. Milwaukee Avenue location is accused of stealing from other employees at the business. A Libertyville police officer took a report at 8:11 p.m., Aug. 22, 2019, of the suspected employee stealing property from the others, and through the investigation, 20-year-old Jordan Echevarria, from the 1000 block of Cardinal Drive in Zion, was identified as the suspect. Echevarria was interviewed and ultimately arrested in association with the thefts, and faces two counts of theft. He was processed at the jail and released on a $164 personal recognizance bond, and his court date is listed as March 11.

Criminal trespass to vehicle

Libertyville police officers were called at 12:35 p.m., March 1 to a report of a subject trespassing in cars at 1180 S. Milwaukee Avenue, and arrived to find the person at the back of the business. Larry J. Hanlin, 79, from the 31400 block of N. O'Plaine Road in Libertyville was identified and admitted to entering cars on the property, which was confirmed by video surveillance. He was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department, where he was processed and cited on accusations of criminal trespass to vehicle (two counts). Hanlin was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond, and his court dare is listed as March 27.

Driving under the influence/traffic offenses

A Libertyville police officer was patrolling at 1:52 a.m., March 8 and saw a car drive the wrong way down a one-way street on School Street at N. Milwaukee Avenue. The police officer pulled the car over at 723 N. Milwaukee Avenue after seeing additional traffic violations as the car continued north. The driver was identified as 27-year-old Travis L. Krenzien, from the 900 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, and while interacting with Krenzien, police saw several signs of impairment and asked him to perform field sobriety tests. Based on the test results, Krenzien was arrested and taken to the Libertyville Police Department, and faces charges of driving under the influence with a BAC of .08 or more, driving under the influence, improper lane usage (one way street), and improper lane usage (laned roadways). He was released after posting his driver's license and signing a $1,000 personal recognizance bond, and his court date is listed as March 27.
