Coronavirus In Libertyville: Up To 39 Confirmed Cases
The Lake County Department of Health is reporting between 35 and 39 cases of coronavirus in Libertyville as of April 13.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Lake County Health Department Monday reported 282 new cases of the coronavirus since Friday in the county, and 16 deaths. In Libertyville, there have been between 35 and 39 confirmed cases of the coronavirus reported to the local health department. Here are the number of cases reported in nearby towns as of Monday afternoon:
- Round Lake: 65 to 69
- Round Lake Beach: 25 to 29
- Grayslake: 20 to 24
- Lindenhurst: 20 to 24
- Waukegan: 375 to 379 cases
- Gurnee: 60 to 64 cases
- Vernon Hills: 30 to 34
- Mundelein: 50 to 54
- Lake Forest: 65 to 69

The Health Department is investigating 22 long-term care facilities in the county that have two or more positive cases, the news release said. These 22 facilities have a combined total of 238 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. The Health Department said it continues to work closely with these long-term health facilities to assure that necessary infection control measures are taken.

"The virus that causes COVID-19 spreads mainly through respiratory droplets shared by coughing, sneezing, and talking when you're in close proximity to another person," Lake County Health Department Executive Director Mark Pfister said, in the news release. "We ask residents to stay the course with social distancing. We all have to do our part to stop the spread of this illness. Stay home, save lives."
