Coroner IDs Man Killed After Being Hit By Car Near Libertyville

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 51-year-old man who was hit and killed while walking on Route 137 early Thursday as Jose Guzman of Park City.

The incident happened at about 3:20 a.m. on Route 137 at Clover Drive, authorities said. Results from an autopsy show Guzman died from blunt force injuries he suffered as a result of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
