LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 29-year-old Evanston woman who died following a three-car collision on an icy Lake County roadway Sunday night as Bria Allen

Preliminary results from an autopsy show Allen died from blunt force injuries sustained as a result of a crash.

The crash that killed Allen happened at about 9 p.m. on November 9 on Grand Avenue over Interstate 94 when a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban heading west on Grand hit a patch of ice while switching lanes, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department.

The sports utility vehicle lost control, crossed over the median and entered the eastbound lanes of traffic before colliding head-on with a 2007 Ford Focus traveling east on Grand, according to police.

The impact forced the Ford Focus off the road and into a ditch. Authorities pronounced Allen — who was driving the Ford Focus at the time of the crash — dead at the scene.

Police did not have any updates on the conditions of the passengers in the Focus as of Monday morning, authorities said. No one in the Chevrolet Suburban sustained any injuries, police said.
