Coroner IDs Woman, 30, Hit By Car In Vernon Hills

VERNON HILLS, IL — A 30-year-old Vernon Hills woman has died after she was hit by a vehicle in the 900 block of South Milwaukee Avenue in Vernon Hills on Friday.

Emily Wegleiz died from blunt force injuries as a result of a crash, according to preliminary results from a Lake County Coroner's Office autopsy.

Police say she was hit by a vehicle while in the roadway in the 900 block of South Milwaukee Avenue in Vernon Hills Friday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
