It's National Fresh Breath Day!

Did you know that today, Aug. 6, is National Fresh Breath Day? 

Yes, there is indeed a day for everything. 

But, as we all know, avoiding bad breath is important—that is, unless your goal is to keep people at a safe distance. Then, by all means, rock on with your "bad breath" self. 

All joking aside, WebMD offers some tips on how to avoid—and get rid of—bad breath.

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
  • Avoid drinking too much coffee.
  • Don't drink too much alcohol. 
  • Don't smoke. 
  • Chew sugarless gum, which WebMD says can help reduce cavities, too.
  • Use sugar-free mints in moderation, and avoid sugary mints.
