Festival of the Arts, 'Musical Summer Showcase' This Weekend

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? There's plenty going on in and around Libertyville, from the David Adler Music and Arts Center's Festival of the Arts to First Friday in downtown Libertyville. 

Two Words: First Friday!

The monthly First Friday festivities are slated for 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 2. The evening could include anything from entertainment to special discounts. Check out the MainStreet Libertyville website for the latest information. Want a night out without the kids? TheLibertyville High School cheerleaders—both team members and parents—will provide activities for children ages 2 through 12 at the Libertyville Civic Center. Back-to-School Deals

Penny Posh will hold a consignment sale at the Lake County Fairgrounds Aug. 2-4. The sale will include items like gently-used toys, clothing, books and more. The sale will be held on Aug. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m., Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission to the sale is $2 on Friday, $1 on Saturday, and free on Sunday.

"Musical Summer Showcase" at Austin's

Liberty Town Productions will hold its fifth annual "Musical Summer Showcase" at 6 and 8:15 p.m. Aug. 3. The performances will be held in The Fuel Room at Austin's Saloon & Eatery and will feature songs from productions like "Les Misérables" and "Shrek."

Festival of the Arts

The David Adler Music and Arts Center will hold its 33rd annual Festival of the Arts starting at 10 a.m. Aug. 3. The event will be held in Cook Park and will feature artists from around the country.
