Fox River Closed For Safety Following Flooding
The closing also includes Zone C — Chain O' Lakes — beginning 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, according to authorities.
FOX LAKE, IL — The Fox Waterway Agency announced Monday that the entire Fox River, zones A and B, will remain closed for safety, according to the IDNR-Office of Law Enforcement. IDNR officials also reported zone C (Lakes) is expected to also close at 3 p.m. Monday for safety.
The Fox River and Chain O'Lakes were expected to rise over the weekend, due to last weeks flash flooding. The entire river has been closed since 3 p.m Friday, Sept. 13 due to hazardous conditions, and zone c remained open for no wake speed, until Monday's update.
According to the agency, there is also a debris advisory in place for the entire system.
